Mobility Battery

There are many different brands of mobility scooter batteries and wheelchair batteries available. We offer batteries and brands that are of a high quality, from the budget range right through to the top of the range batteries.

All our mobility batteries are either sealed lead acid or Gel types. To choose the correct battery for your scooter, you need to check the capacity you require - this is measured in Ah and will be noted on the battery that is already in the scooter or wheelchair.

Mobility batteries are classed by its Ah value (Amp hours (Ah) - this is the total amount of electricity that the battery can hold) in the following sizes: 7Ah, 12Ah, 24-26Ah, 31-34Ah, 40-44Ah, 50Ah and 70Ah mobility batteries.

Most wheelchairs and scooters are fitted with two 12v batteries in a series to create a 24v system. These two batteries are usually charged using an automatic 24v charger.

We are more than happy to help you choose the right battery for your needs.

Car Battery Maintenance
(Extract from Lucas Car Battery Fitment Guide)

30 years ago, batteries lost water at a high rate and motorists were advised to check the acid level as one of their weekly checks. Improvements using calcium as a hardening agent in grids in place of antimony have caused less contamination of the acid and much reduced water loss. This makes the battery maintenance-free so no water needs to be added during its life under normal operating conditions. During the same period, battery life has doubled from 2 years to 4-5 years. Always refer to the information contained in the handbook or brochure supplied with the vehicle or equipment. (copyright Lucas Batteries)
