Energy Battery

Our Energy Battery range is constantly being developed to offer specialist batteries for different applications, such as:

Mobility Batteries

The mobility series are quality crafted batteries incorporating Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) and Gel technologies. The batteries are sealed-valve and regulated lead acid (VRLA). This means they are non-spilable and never need maintenance.

Golf and Leisure

These batteries are totally sealed for life, offer up to 4x longer life and are dual purpose starting/deep cycling batteries. They offer a non-spill maintenance free body that incorporates a carry handle.

Marine

There are four popular types of battery manufactured by Energy for maritime usage:

  • Sealed for life (SFL) - this is a flooded lead acid battery, that never needs topping up.
  • Flooded lead acid (FLA)
  • Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) VRLA, a totally sealed battery giving high starting performance and deep cycling capability
  • Gel VRLA, similar to AGM except that an immobilised electrolyte is used. Gel cells will not stratify, thicker plates are used (3.4mm) and are more tolerant to deep cycling.

Car Battery Maintenance
(Extract from Lucas Car Battery Fitment Guide)

30 years ago, batteries lost water at a high rate and motorists were advised to check the acid level as one of their weekly checks. Improvements using calcium as a hardening agent in grids in place of antimony have caused less contamination of the acid and much reduced water loss. This makes the battery maintenance-free so no water needs to be added during its life under normal operating conditions. During the same period, battery life has doubled from 2 years to 4-5 years. Always refer to the information contained in the handbook or brochure supplied with the vehicle or equipment. (copyright Lucas Batteries)
